Seen from Ao Nang, Long Beach is the nextt beach to the north after Noppharatara Beach and was previously only accessible by a small river. Hidden under the trees are still a few bungalow complexes that some may be remember from the past.
Unfortunately, all resorts have upgraded their rooms and built new, modern bungalows with aircon etc. These are of course a bit more expensive than before.
How to get to Long Beach
Today there are two ways to get to Longbeach. Either across the river (by boat or swimming) at the end of Noppharat Thara Beach or via an asphalted access road from the main road to Klong Muang.
The Long Beach near Ao Nang
Currently there are four bungalow resorts on Long Beach: P.A.N. Beach Bungalow (from approx. 900, - Baht), Long Beach Villa (from approx. 1200 B), Sand Beach Bungalow (from approx. 1100 Baht) and the J2B Resort with prices from approx. 800 - 1300, - Baht per night.
Accomodation at Long Beach
The old bungalows from the backpacker time, for 100 - 200, - Baht per night, are no longer there. They were either demolished or are now used as accommodations for the staff of the respective resorts.
Note: The Long Beach near Ao Nang described here should not be confused with the Had Yao Beach south of Krabi, which is also referred to as "Long Beach". Also on Koh Lanta there is a Long Beach.
