James Bond Island is a small island in Phang Nga Bay and was made famous by the 1974 James Bond classic "The Man with the Golden Gun," starring Roger Moore and Christopher Lee.
"James Bond" landed by seaplane in front of the small island which was the home and base of Mr. Scaramanga (Christopher Lee).

On the oddly shaped rock in front of the islet, a solar reflector was installed, directing the deadly sunbeams into Scaramanga's laboratory on the island. Make sure to watch the movie again before planning a trip to the island in Thailand.
For many years, James Bond Island was a tour that was only done from Phuket, as the island is also near Phuket. Only in the last few years and due to the growing tourism in Krabi region one has come up with the idea to offer tours from there to James Bond Island.
From Krabi (Ao Nang), you can reach the James Bond Island either directly by boat or by road trip but of course you have to travel the final part of the trip by longtail boat, because this is still an island after all.
From Krabi, a tour to James Bond Island is usually combined with other attractions along the way, such as stalactite cave, a temple visit, the National Park in Ao Luk and of course the obligatory village of the Sea Gypsies, where lunch is taken.
