November 2017: No smoking on Thailand's most popular beaches
Starting November 1st, 2017, smoking is prohibited on most of Thailands beaches. Violators face penalties of up to 100,000 baht and / or 1 year in prison

November 2016:
Qatar Airways now flies directly between Doha and Krabi Airport. There are connection flights to all other European Countries.

January 2014
On January 4th, an new Nakarin Hospital has finaly opened up in Krabi Town. That should improve the medical services in Krabi area.

November 2013:
On November 22nd, a new Tesco Lotus Supermarket has opened up in Ao Nang. The new Supermarket is located in the upper Town of Ao Nang, just before the big crossing to Ao Namao on the left hand side.

November 2012:
The Holiday Inn will open it's first Hotel in the Krabi region in Ao Nang on Novemer 1st, 2012. It will be the former Sala Talai Resort. The hotel has 55 Rooms available by now but will expand during the upcomming month to 188 rooms. The location of the hotel is actually Noparatara Beach but it's only a 10 minute walk to the center of Ao Nang.

30. Oct. 2009:
New Ambulance Car for Ao Nang

Ao Nang now has it's own Ambulance Car from the Phuket International Hospital in Phuket. It is located at the office of the Recompression Chamber in Ao Nang. It's purpose is to bring people directly the hospital in Phuket for better medical service.

Feb. 2009: Ao Nang Deli Food Store
A new food store has opened up today, with specialties mostly from Germany and Europe like: Salami, Weisswurst, Smoked Ham and many more. The new store can be found at the village of Klong Haeng, just behind Noppharat Thara Beach.

Feb. 2009: Ao Nang Off Road Championnship:
The first ever Offroad Championship took place in Ao Nang, near the Ao Nang Football Stadium on the road to Shell Cemetery. Some pictures can be found here!

Feb. 2009: Fire in The Irish Roover
A fire broke out last night, probably in the kitchen of the well known Irish Roover Bar & Grill. Nobody was hurt in the fire but the building needs renovation due to damage from the black smoke, heat and water.
